What I Learned As A Shop Steward - Michael Stewart
09/12/14 - Local 328, Oregon AFSCME Council 75
Michael Stewart, a longtime Steward has some practical things to remember: The Union is not this outside entity, the Union is you. It’s you and YOU ARE it – it’s not like an insurance policy. I like members to think of us like a gym: You get as much out of it as you put into it. The union depends on its Stewards and its members.

Sept. 12, 2014 | ECONOMY | … Corporations are taking in more and more money, their executives are getting bigger and bigger paychecks, but the workers responsible for all that wealth are barely seeing a dime of it. Why is that? Reagan. Before Reagan came to Washington, corporations knew they had a responsibility to a number of groups.
